How can we help you?

Quora Pixel Pixel

Last updated on June 16, 2023

The Quora Pixel is a tool that is placed in your website code to track traffic and conversions. When someone clicks on your ad and lands on your website, the Quora Pixel allows you to identify how many people are visiting your website and what actions they are taking.

The Quora Pixel consists of two parts: (1) the Base Pixel code and (2) the Event Pixel code.

The Base Pixel should be installed in the header of every page on your website. Installing the Base Pixel enables you to leverage website audience building for Website Traffic Targeting (remarketing) and Lookalike Targeting.

The Event Pixel tracks specific conversion events and should be installed on the page that indicates when a conversion event occurred. This is commonly a 'thank you' or confirmation page. Event Pixels can also track inline action events such as an "Add to Cart" button. When you install the Event Pixel manually, or through Google Tag Manager, it will appear as a Standard Event. For accounts that do not wish to install the Event Pixel, Custom Events are alternatives that do not require additional coding.

Do both the Base Pixel and Event Pixel need to be installed?

We strongly recommend installing both. Certain features of the Quora Ads Manager will be unavailable without both pixels, and it is easier to optimize campaigns if you have the Base and Event pixels installed. In addition, you can:

  • Track conversions and performance data (including multi-event conversions)
  • Optimize bidding for conversions
  • Retarget web visitors via a Website Traffic Audience
  • Create a Lookalike Audience based off a Website Traffic Audience

Overall, the Quora Pixel will help you drive insights that can optimize your performance and meet your goals.
